Qlaf meets all
Talmudic specs- על

- Includes
everything: Boxes (ביתים) are "bahama gassa"- (cow hide/
not goat). This is the finest quality. Boxes are Kosher Mahadrin -
and perfectly square.
- NOTE ABOUT GLUE:
All compartments are 100% totally separated into grooves. There is
no regular glue (on purpose) separating the four compartments of
tefillin. The compartments are completely separated by tendons
(sinews). A sinew (glue-like composite) is USUALLY used on the top
and sides, to retain the square shape of tefillin and protect
them. HOWEVER, if you want, we can make them without any type of
glue or composite substance at all. The picture below shows a
glue-less set of tefillin, where the straight spaces between the
grooves can be clearly observed
- As a
standard, the knots are pre-tied according to the old Rambam (x)
method. However, we can tie it according to your
specifications.
- YES:
We DO provide straps that are BLACK ON BOTH SIDES before
tying, for the mini-set. We can do this for the large set
too.
- We only start with hide
purchased from Jews.

We only write on
KOSHER QLAF, as is required by the Talmud, Geonim and the Rambam.
Although the antiquity and accuracy of the Rambam needs no
defense, there is a work called Halakhoth Gadoloth (circa 743ce)
which verifies the Rambam's definition of Qlaf (as the inner side

All ancient Yemenite Manuscripts of the Rambam also agree.
Also, Talmud (qaton) Sofrim agrees exactly.

All tefillin are certified kosher, come with sturdy
plastic covers and have straps individually tied to your
specification. With your tefillin you can receive a photocopy of
the parshiot and kashrut report - if
requested.
